NextGenBoys 2026 – this is modern boys' work for the next generation!

Our project brings together boys aged 10–16 from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds. Together, they experience how diversity is a true source of enrichment and develop a strong sense of community—across cultural differences.

🎵 Music Production – Show what you've got! Write your own lyrics, create beats, record songs: With music, you’ll find your voice and be able to creatively express your feelings and thoughts. Translation:

(I.e. Art & Creativity Create images and objects, process feelings and experiences in a creative way! We offer you space for reflection and to strengthen your identity.

(I.e. Boxing training Strengthen body and mind! You will learn technique, fairness, respect and conflict resolution – for more discipline and teamwork.

🚶‍♂️ Joint excursions – Discover culture and new places, experience great activities together with other boys!

Why NextGenBoys makes the difference

At a stage in life when everything is changing, NextGenBoys offers more than just recreational activities—it’s a place of stability. Here, boys find a safe space to let go of the “tough guy” facade and discover who they truly want to be. Through the unique combination of physical exertion and creative expression learn not only to control their emotions but to use them productively. The result? Healthy self-confidence, genuine social skills, and the realization that together we are stronger than alone. We prepare them not only for their next project but for their journey into a society that needs team spirit and respect.

When employees of MERKUR PRIVATBANK pick up brushes, brooms, and shovels, magical moments are created: During the Social Day at our KRASS House in Düsseldorf-Eller, the team of the renowned banking institution experienced first-hand how art and creativity enable valuable, low-threshold access to participation for children.

A day that changes things

“You get to know each other differently when you're holding a shovel,” one participant from MERKUR PRIVATBANK aptly put it. Instead of numbers and reports, the focus was on genuine encounters. The team tackled the task together with motivation and energy – and experienced firsthand how powerful, fulfilling, and enriching it is to work creatively with children, opening up new opportunities and possibilities for them in a place they can visit daily without an appointment, where they receive encouragement, appreciation, and support.

More than team building

The Social Day at KRASS e.V. raised the team's awareness of the challenges faced by children from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. At the same time, the staff bonded through working together for a good cause. This is team building with purpose, heart, and mind.

Social Day?

A Social Day is a day of action on which companies release their employees to participate in social projects together. Instead of sitting at their desks, participants spend the day providing practical support to non-profit organizations, associations, or initiatives. This not only creates visible results for the community but also fosters a strong sense of togetherness within the team.

Boxing for young people: Thanks to funding from the Düsseldorf Children's Dreams Foundation, we can fulfill the boxing dreams of eight young people!

Discipline, team spirit, respect – boxing for young people

Four boys and four girls, aged between 14 and 16, train once a week in the training rooms of Freudenreich Professional Boxing at the Kulturschlachthof in Düsseldorf. Under professional guidance, the young people learn not only the techniques and fundamentals of boxing, but also important values ​​such as rules, discipline, team spirit, and mutual respect.

Boxing is more than just a sport for young people

This is how boxing is truly fun: Equipped with everything needed for training – from boxing gloves and hand wraps to training hoodies – the young people have the opportunity to really let loose during training. It's not just about athletic performance: Through the shared experience as a team, they develop self-confidence, strengthen their physical fitness, and learnto channel their energy in a positive way. The training creates a space where fun, community, and personal development go hand in hand.

What and where: Boxing for young people at the Kulturschlachthof, Rather Str. 25, 40476 Düsseldorf

When: Wednesdays 18:30-19:30 pm – also during school holidays 

With boxing pro Stefan Freudenreich and coach Leo.

The training is fully booked; registrations are currently not possible.

Next boxing project for young people is being planned

Due to high demand and our success so far, we would like to launch another independent boxing project for young people. This is expected to take place at the KRASS e.V. facilities in the Bürgerhaus Eller in Düsseldorf. In this way, we want to give even more young people the opportunity to benefit from this program. Here, they will experience not only sports, but also community and personal growth—that’s how we see boxing for young people!

"You belong to us" – Embracing diversity, strengthening creativity

With “You Belong Here,” KRASS e.V. is launching an intercultural art and empowerment project specifically aimed at refugee children. Our goal is to strengthen these children’s resilience, conflict management skills, and sense of belonging through artistic and cultural activities. We create a safe space where they can discover their creative talents, explore their cultural identity, and develop healthy self-confidence.

Democratic values ​​and the creative exploration of topics such as tolerance and extremism prevention are central to the project. A particular focus is placed on regular interaction with non-refugee children from the neighborhood – shared experiences and getting to know one another are integral parts of the project.

Dear Parents

At KRASS e.V. in Düsseldorf, your children are supervised during the summer holidays by professional artists. The premises are fenced, similar to a schoolyard, and many adults provide supervision. There is no main road in the immediate vicinity, so traffic is minimal – your children can play and create safely. We provide paints, brushes, children’s scissors, craft materials, colored pencils, coloring books, games, modeling clay, a ping-pong table, a room for dancing and movement, and space to relax.

KRASS e.V. in Düsseldorf welcomes all children and young people, regardless of the language they speak – everyone is welcome! 🌟

And after the summer holidays?

KRASS e.V. offers exciting and creative activities for children and young people all year round – not just during the summer holidays.

The community center in Düsseldorf-Eller is open daily from Monday to Friday from 17 pm to 18 pm. Various creative activities are offered there for children and young people to participate in.

In addition, our mobile children's art studio is in Düsseldorf every day, always from 16-18 pm.!

KRASS is pleased to announce that Carina Gonzalez Wohlenberg, previously Head of Finance, has been officially appointed Managing Director pursuant to Section 30 of the German Civil Code (special representative) effective June 1, 2025. The appointment by the Executive Board has now been legally confirmed following careful preparation.

KRASS e.V. was of course at the volunteer fair in Düsseldorf 2025 – because every commitment counts!

We were once again part of it this year! Since the first Volunteer Fair 10 years ago, we have been sending a strong message for cultural education and equal opportunities.

Why is KRASS e.V. at the volunteer fair in Düsseldorf?

👉 Because we show that volunteering strengthens and transforms society.
👉 Because we are looking for supporters who share our vision.

This year we will present our current projects, exchange ideas with other committed individuals and network with people who want to make a difference.

About the volunteer fair in Düsseldorf

The Düsseldorf Volunteer Fair is an annual event that offers citizens the opportunity to learn about volunteer opportunities in the state capital and to get involved. It traditionally takes place in June on Corneliusplatz in the heart of Düsseldorf.

The Volunteer Fair is aimed at anyone interested in volunteering – whether you are new to volunteering or already active and looking for fresh inspiration. Around 100 clubs, initiatives, and organizations will present their activities in areas such as children and youth work, culture, the environment, support for seniors, health, sports, local heritage preservation, and traditional customs. At interactive stands, visitors can speak directly with representatives, receive advice, or sign up for volunteer opportunities.

The World Play Day It is one of the official UN observances and is celebrated internationally on June 11th. The day aims to encourage adults and children to play together and promote the joy of play. In 2025, the motto was "Let's play – with all our senses!" KRASS naturally joined in the fun – specifically on the Rhine promenade in Düsseldorf.

Chalk drawing on game day

Chalk drawing is a simple yet wonderful way for us to be creative together and connect with each other. Everyone can participate, because everyone knows chalk and can draw with it on asphalt. drawClassic and simple games like hopscotch or fortune teller are easy to play and lots of fun for everyone – even adults! The gray street becomes a colorful playground. We want to revitalize the street as a place for creativity and playing together.

Information about World Play Day

International Play Day, also known as World Play Day, has been officially celebrated on June 11th since 2024. Previously, celebrations took place on different dates in Germany and many other countries. The United Nations' decision to establish this date aims to emphasize the right to play worldwide. June 11th falls conveniently before the summer holidays in the Northern Hemisphere and during winter in the Southern Hemisphere, making it suitable for both school and public activities.

World Play Day in Germany

In Germany, World Play Day is organized by the German Children’s Fund (Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk e.V.) together with the Right to Play Alliance (Bündnis Recht auf Spiel). Since 2008, this initiative has called for active participation through local actions. In 2025, World Play Day was officially celebrated worldwide for the first time on June 11 under the motto: “Let’s play – with all our senses!”. In particular, the connection between play and culture was emphasized in order to promote holistic education and to open up diverse spaces of experience for children.

UN General Assembly resolution

International Play Day was officially established by a UN General Assembly resolution on March 25, 2024. The day aims to raise awareness of the right to play, enshrined in Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Play is considered a fundamental human need: it promotes children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development and makes a significant contribution to a healthy and creative society.

KRASS will also participate in World Play Day with various activities next year.
