Our commitment to cultural education:

• We are committed to ensuring that all young people, regardless of their family, cultural or social background, can achieve success on their individual educational path.
• We support schools, all-day schools, educational institutions and parents in their educational tasks and focus together with them on goals for promoting education.
• We are extremely flexible and open to new project approaches, and we give free rein to our creativity so that support reaches where it is needed.
• We pool our expertise, creativity, experience and qualifications and offer them free of charge to promote cultural education and integration.

Our concept

In all regions of the world and across all social classes, children and young people should have barrier-free access to culture and education. KRASS e.V. runs its own free educational, artistic, and socially oriented projects for children and young people who are disadvantaged for social, financial, or other reasons. The widespread reach of KRASS e.V.'s programs helps to reach as many affected children and young people as possible.

Since KRASS e.V. is recognized as a non-profit organization, no profits are generated through our activities. In addition to its headquarters, KRASS e.V. has a global presence. These locations are referred to as "KRASS on Location".

KRASS's local goals are the same as those of its headquarters in Düsseldorf.

The social franchising program essentially consists of four elements:

•  The manual
•  The contract

Our vision —“Every child has the right to free access to culture and education”—serves as the overarching guiding principle for all activities carried out under the name KRASS. It defines the direction of the entire organization. For this reason, the vision is of central importance to everyone involved, and everything else is secondary to it.

The association's statutes describe the organization and participation of the association's members. The statutes provide the legal basis for our activities. They apply to every member.

The Handbook serves as a guide for the association. The handbook defines standards that streamline and professionalize internal collaboration among the individual KRASS locations. The handbook covers all areas relevant to the association: organization, communication, accounting, financing, human resources management, project management, legal matters, etc.

The agreement governs the collaboration between the central association KRASS e.V. (Düsseldorf) and all other locations (local KRASS branches). The terms of this agreement are mandatory for all KRASS locations. This ensures high-quality project implementation.

Organization

KRASS e.V. (Düsseldorf) is governed by its statutes by two bodies: the Executive Board and the General Meeting. The Executive Board consists of a Chairperson, a Deputy Chairperson, and a Treasurer. The General Meeting is convened annually.

To manage the administrative tasks that fall to the Düsseldorf-based association as its headquarters, we have subdivided all tasks into six areas of work:

• Fundraising: from donations, grants, art materials
• Project managementOrganization and implementation of programs and projects
• FinancePlanning, accounting, controlling
• Administration & Law: as primary area of ​​responsibility
• StaffCoordination, member activities, coaching
• Communication : Design, Marketing, Public Relations

However, this organizational structure may differ at KRASS's local locations. The work at each location is optimally adapted to the local and personnel conditions by its respective manager.

Educational standards

In addition to conveying artistic and media content, we place particular emphasis on adhering to educational standards. The artists must ensure these standards are met in their work with children and young people. Fundamentally, children should be supported in their personal development. Therefore, our projects and programs specifically impart the following content to children:

CraftsmanshipIdeas are meaningfully implemented and designed using writing, images, objects and materials.

TeamworkTraining in communication and conflict resolution skills through lively exchange within the group. Participants present their own ideas clearly and then discuss them critically.

EnduranceThrough trying things out, experimenting and improvising, interesting connections between the familiar and the new emerge.

MotivationTo inspire oneself and others with one's own idea.

PerceptionChanging one's perspective (playing with light, colors, roles, emotions) in order to find and solidify one's own standpoint in life.

Artistic standards

We draw on various artistic and media fields to put our vision—“Cultural education is a necessity!”—into practice. Depending on the location, our focus varies based on available staff resources. However, we always strive to bring as much variety as possible to our activities.
