At KRASS e.V. in Düsseldorf, professional artists have the opportunity to share their creativity with children and young people, making a valuable contribution to cultural education. The work takes place in funded projects or is supported by donations, so the programs are free for all children. Whether painting, designing, or participating in creative workshops – the projects combine artistic work with educational engagement and are, of course, compensated.
The work is diverse and exciting. Artists at KRASS e.V. work in the children’s studio at the Bürgerhaus in Düsseldorf-Eller, as well as on-site with the KulturMobil in the Düsseldorf districts of Unterrath, Garath, Hassels, and Reisholz. They support children in projects, lead workshops, and are able to contribute their own ideas. They are supported by volunteers, who help with setup, material preparation, or supervising the children. The work requires organization, empathy, and the ability to motivate groups, but it also offers direct feedback and moments of success when children truly flourish creatively.
Exciting projects in the fields of culture and education
The projects are diverse: from open studios and holiday workshops to the well-known KulturMobil, which regularly stops in different neighbourhoods. Each assignment is unique and makes it possible to work directly with children, try out new techniques, and accompany creative processes. In addition to artistic skills, flexibility is required, as the projects include both scheduled sessions and spontaneous activities.

The dedicated children’s studio in Düsseldorf at the Bürgerhaus Eller offers a permanent, well-equipped space. Here, children can freely develop their creativity and drive without restrictions. Whether paints, brushes, paper, or craft materials – everything is available to create engaging workshops and to support children in painting, designing, and experimenting in the best possible way.
More than just an artistic engagement: A job at KRASS

Step in when needed or when someone is unavailable: Register as a "substitute" with KRASS
For times when no regular jobs are available, there is the option to register as a "floater." As a floater, you can step in at short notice if artists cancel or additional support is needed. This keeps the work at KRASS dynamic and constantly opens up new opportunities to contribute your own artistic skills and creatively guide children – and of course, this work is also paid.
Working with children requires an extended certificate of good conduct to ensure their protection – a standard requirement for all non-profit organizations that work with children. This certificate can be applied for free of charge at the relevant citizens' office in Düsseldorf. The KRASS team can assist with obtaining the necessary documents, if needed, to ensure a smooth application process.
