A children's jury of 14 primary school students reviewed all applications in April and determined the winners.
Sixteen applications were received for the Rhineland-Palatinate Children's Rights Prize 2024 in the diverse formats of songs, projects, videos, strategies and actions.

When we heard we'd won first prize, tears of joy welled up in the eyes of one of the singers in our children's protection song. Our singer and rapper Adem (13 years old) said: "Wow, we just won first prize!"
Our four young singers, Lale, Adem, Rosa, and Johanna, then performed the song "Come into the Light" live for all the guests, accompanied by a backing track, while the video played on a screen in the background. They received what felt like minutes of applause.

Presenter Anne Grossart, who also helped supervise the children's jury, recounted the reactions of the children's jury when they saw our music video "Come to the Light" for the first time: "The video was amazing! The children were completely silent and applauded after watching the video. You really impressed and moved the children's jury."

Host and State Secretary Janosch Littig said the award winners had made children's rights "visible and tangible" with their entries. He concluded by saying, "I think the children's jury made a fantastic selection."
