After summer break: Open studio for children has started

Our Open Studio for children ages 8 to 11 has resumed after the summer break. The art classes for children, led by artist Daniela Kurella, will take place on Saturday mornings through the end of the year in the group room at the Psychosocial Center for Refugees on Engelstraße in Trier. You can register for the course using this online form. We would like to thank our partner for allowing us to use the group room for our courses!

Many thanks also to our funders, the Trier City Youth Welfare Office and the Rehkids Trier Foundation, who made the project possible!

With our free courses, we want to enable children to come into contact with art and try out their creativity, regardless of their parents' financial means.

On October 26.10th, the children painted ornamental pumpkins with Daniela Kurella. They created brightly striped and polka-dotted pumpkins, as well as pumpkins with spooky faces, perfect for Halloween. While they painted, the children listened to "Mangos with Chili" by Nina Chuba and chatted animatedly about school, holidays, and other topics. When it was time for the children to pack up, participant Sascha exclaimed, "What a shame, no more jam! What a shame, no more chocolate!"

In the coming weeks, the children can look forward to a varied program: For example, we will paint tiny canvases, create collages, and design candles in the Christmas elf workshop on December 28.12th.
