Girls' coloring book BeYOUtiful printed
Trier. Our girls’ coloring book BeYOUtiful is finished! Nine young people from Trier created the 30 drawings for the coloring book during a holiday workshop led by artist Claudia Pomowski at the Stadtmuseum Simeonstift. The book has now been printed in an edition of 480 copies at the Ensch printing house. The coloring books will mostly be given as gifts to girls in Trier.
Some copies have already been sent to students of the St. Josef special needs school, the Porta Nigra school, the Keune primary school, the Cüppers school, the Zewen primary school and the Kurfürst Balduin secondary school in Trier.
Teachers can order free coloring books for their students via email, while supplies last: trier@krass-ev.de
The books are suitable for girls aged 10 and up. We deliver the books to schools within Trier. Alternatively, teachers can pick up the books in Trier.
At two schools, we were allowed to distribute the coloring books ourselves to the fourth and fifth grade students. "You are beautiful – inside and out," we told the girls. A radiant smile, and occasionally an embarrassed one, appeared on the children's faces when they heard this.
As they excitedly flipped through the pages of the coloring book afterwards, they exclaimed enthusiastically: "How can anyone paint so well?!"
Our final meeting with the young artists and Claudia Pomowski took place on November 15.11th. Coworking space Zwo65 The event took place on Petrisberg. Each artist received a copy. Afterwards, the girls diligently answered questions from media representatives from the Trierischer Volksfreund newspaper and the Antenne Trier radio station. Then the girls colored in some pages of their coloring books.
On December 1st, 2024, from 11 am to 5 pm, we will also be selling 50 coloring books at our stand at the Sterntaler Christmas market in the Brunnenhof Trier for 5 euros each to benefit our association.
The girls’ coloring book project was awarded the Youth Promotion Prize by the association Kunst an Hecken und Zäunen in the group/upper school category.
The project was financially supported by the Sparkasse Trier Environmental Foundation, the Trier City Youth Welfare Office, and the Volksbank Trier-Eifel. Many thanks!
