Trier. Our first children's murder mystery dinner took place on November 05.11.2023th, 20. Twenty children participated: 10 in the morning and 10 in the evening.
The murder mystery dinner consisted of a cooking class and a murder mystery game.
During the cooking class, the children prepared a vegetarian three-course meal with our volunteers in a large kitchen.
First, they had to wash their hands thoroughly. We gave the children soap that stained their hands yellow. If there was no more yellow color on their hands after washing them with water, then their hands were clean. It worked perfectly.
The younger children cooked bruschetta, tagliatelle with pumpkin sauce and homemade chocolate pudding.
The "grown-ups" prepared hearty cheese muffins, vegetable lasagna and tiramisu.
After cooking, we started the murder mystery game. The children and teenagers took on different roles, which they had chosen when they registered. Some participants and their parents put a lot of effort into their costumes to authentically portray their roles.
During the game, the children tried to solve a crime together. The task was to find out which of them was the culprit.
The game allowed participants to test their skills in: acting, empathy, group discussion, reading, argumentation, …
In between, we ate our delicious meal.
Everyone had a lot of fun, as our survey at the end of the event showed.
The project was supported by the Trier Cultural Foundation. Thank you!
