Franziska Wonnebauer was nominated for the prize with this text: “Ms. Wonnebauer’s projects and their implementation are generally distinguished in several respects: They address children and young people from disadvantaged urban areas and create opportunities for participation, for example in cultural education, which would otherwise not be available to the children. In doing so, the projects involve actors who are close to the children’s communities and familiar to them, while at the same time the children get to know new educational spaces. […]
Here, creativity, conceptual strength, organizational talent, communication skills, a sense of responsibility, and commitment come together in a young person in a way that could not be more award-worthy. Ms. Wonnebauer thus renders important services to the Trier community and local educational work.”
