Powerful fairy tales about strong girls

Trier. This summer, author Franziska Wonnebauer led a fairy tale writing workshop for girls aged 10 and up at our Trier branch. In this collaborative project between KRASS and the Trier City Library, the participants discussed what they liked about famous fairy tales and what they would change. They explored the roles of women and men in traditional fairy tales and then wrote their own modern stories in which princesses could be strong and brave, and princes quiet and shy. Two of the fairy tales created in the workshop have now been published as softcover books.

The participants of the book club for young writers at the city library wrote the third fairy tale.

Two copies will soon be available for loan at the Trier City Library in the Education and Media Center at Domfreihof Trier.

Here You can buy the eBook for 2 euros. 100% of the proceeds go to KRASS to finance the project costs.

The project received an award and financial support through the Youth Engagement Competition 2024.
