Just one more week until the carnival floats parade through the state capital again. BILD shows you what you should pay special attention to on Rose Monday!
* On this 17-meter-long ark, revelers and refugees sail together for children's rights: The "Noah's Ark" float by "Krass eV" received its finishing touches over the weekend. Hardworking little helpers left their handprints on the exterior. Under the direction of float builder Jacques Tilly (55), young refugees and members of the association worked on the float for six months. "Krass eV" founder Claudia Seidensticker (58) said: "This is the first time that a float by and with young refugees has participated in the Düsseldorf Rose Monday parade."
* “Jolly crazy together”: As BILD learned, comedian “Dennis from Hürth” will be riding on the float of the carnival society “AVDK von 1829” this year. Dennis, aka Martin Klempnow (49), was invited by president Stefan Kleinehr (52): “We want to provide Cologne with some satirical development aid.” Dennis from Hürth (near Cologne) is “overly” excited about his “first time” at the Düsseldorf carnival and wonders: “Do they throw candy from the float? Or is it all lobster and cheese fondue?” We’ll have to wait and see what HE throws…
