Cultural education for children and young people
The association KRASS e. V. has made it its mission to bring cultural education directly to children and young people who rarely come into contact with it in their everyday lives. The initiative originated from the vision of Düsseldorf artist Claudia Seidensticker-Fountis, who, after a personal crisis, was searching for new meaning and recognized the cultural participation of young people as a central task.
Mobile offers and social franchising
Since many children from socially disadvantaged families cannot access traditional cultural offerings on their own, the association developed the solution of a mobile studio. With the so-called "KUMO" (Kulturmobil) – a converted bus – KRASS e. V. regularly visits public squares to offer spontaneous on-site workshops in art, theater, dance, and music.
Structure for the future
To maximize its reach, the association operates using a "social franchise" model. Local initiatives in cities like Hamburg and Lüneburg utilize the proven concept and organizational structure of KRASS e. V., but operate largely independently on a local level. Since 2025, a full-time management team has ensured the organization's continued existence, while the founder focuses on strategic goals.
