KRASS e.V. Düsseldorf receives Youth Culture Prize!

Jugendkulturpreis für Claudia Seidenstocker von KRASS e.V. aus Düsseldorf

Our founder and chairwoman, Claudia Seidensticker, was awarded the Youth Culture Prize of the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Rheinland for her many years of dedication. This recognition applies to our entire association, KRASS e.V., and acknowledges our work. We enable children and young people to access art and cultural education – especially where financial or social barriers exist.

KRASS e.V.'s approach is clear and effective. Through creative projects, we empower children and young people, strengthening their self-confidence, expressiveness, and social skills. When young people artistically realize their ideas, they discover their talents. They develop courage and learn to forge their own path – skills that will serve them well throughout life. The fact that the Sparkasse Cultural Foundation recognizes and appreciates our commitment and honors it with the Youth Culture Prize motivates us to consistently pursue this path.

Diverse cultural program for children and young people in Düsseldorf

With our KulturMobil and other mobile programs, we travel directly to neighborhoods across the city. This allows us to reach children everywhere, right where they are—in public spaces, in high-need areas, or in shelters for refugee children. We offer a wide range of activities: from painting and dance workshops to music and film projects, as well as academic support. A new highlight is our “Mover”—a mobile studio where young people can create their own songs, videos, and digital content. Every cent of the prize money we received for the Youth Culture Award will go toward our projects.

Art and creativity as a key to personal development

The Youth Culture Prize is a valuable confirmation of our mission to use art and creativity as keys to personal development and social participation. We are especially proud that some of our "Awesome Kids" themselves took to the stage at the award ceremony and demonstrated through dance and rap what creative education can achieve.

About the Youth Culture Prize

The Rhineland Savings Banks Cultural Foundation's Youth Culture Prize has been awarded since 1997 and is one of the most important awards for cultural youth work in the Rhineland. The prize, endowed with €10.000, recognizes initiatives, associations, or institutions that provide children and young people with access to art and culture. The Rhineland Savings Banks Cultural Foundation, established in 1987 on the initiative of the Rhineland savings banks, aims to support projects that offer young people creative opportunities for expression and enable cultural participation regardless of their social or financial circumstances.
