Simply being creative, expressing themselves artistically, or making music: children and young people from socially disadvantaged families rarely have the opportunity to do so. The association COOL e. V., a program of the "Stiftung Kultur für Kinder" (Foundation for Culture for Children), therefore offers free art or music lessons for children whose parents could never afford such an education.
Headquartered in Düsseldorf, the association is now active nationwide and collaborates with regional partners. "Professional artists and educators work with us and, with our support, develop their own concepts on site," explains founder Claudia Seidensticker.
In these courses, children are given the opportunity to express themselves and discover their own talents, all without any pressure to perform. "The successes the children experience here also strengthen them in their everyday environment," Claudia Seidensticker is convinced.
