The project “And we make theatre from A to Z”, funded by the PwC Foundation, was successfully completed. Under the patronage of Uwe Rittmann, a partner at PwC, the participating children and young people explored the world of stage, events, theatre, dance and music – all through artistic means.
From July 09th to 13th, 2012, children aged 6 to 14 had the opportunity to creatively engage with stage design, musicals and the diverse design possibilities of the theatre.
WZ reported on KRASS's theater project
The WZ reported that children aged six to fourteen presented their creative theater project at Kamper 17 in Düsseldorf-Holthausen. Under the guidance of the Krass association and various experts – including an architect, a set designer, and a musical performer – the children explored the topics of musicals, stage design, and the different ways of spatially representing stories.
The newspaper highlights the children's enthusiasm: they built imaginative stage models, experimented with designing materials, and even participated in a real lighting test at a leisure center. Some children recreated scenes from well-known stories, while others developed their own little worlds or themed models – everything from Rapunzel to a football match was represented.
The aim of the project was to introduce children to creative possibilities and show them how musicals and stage sets are created. At the end, the children not only gave a short performance, but proudly presented their work in an exhibition at Kamper 17.
The article also emphasizes that the Krass association promotes cultural and creative education for children – especially in areas where such opportunities are otherwise lacking. The entire project was supported by the Arts Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia and aims to encourage children in the long term to try out their own ideas and explore artistic forms of expression.
