Local office Düsseldorf & Rheinische Post: VVV secures NaKu project

NAKU Nachhilfe trifft Kunst

Good news for Heerdt: The educational project “Tutoring Meets Art” (NaKu) will continue into 2026. Thanks to financial support from the Transportation and Beautification Association (VVV), this well-established program for children and teens in the neighborhood will remain in place. This is reported by Lokal [office] Düsseldorf as well as the Rheinische Post.

Since 2021, NaKu has combined academic support with creative activities. Twice a week, children aged 6 to 15 receive free assistance with homework and learning materials – supplemented by artistic activities. Children with language or academic challenges benefit particularly.

The positive impact of the project is clearly evident: teachers, parents, and caregivers report increased motivation and improved learning behavior. The concept was developed by KRASS e.V. and initiated in Heerdt by the Heerdt Foundation.

A key factor for success is continuity. Reliable structures and long-term support create stable relationships and enable sustainable progress. With secure funding, NaKu will remain an important building block for better educational opportunities in the district.
