The "Old Meets Young" project brings children and seniors together to engage in creative activities. It fosters intergenerational exchange and supports the personal and social development of the participants. Participants meet regularly in a safe and supportive environment where they work creatively, share stories, and implement projects.
The seniors regularly read to the children and provide them with a sense of security. They enable the children to feel safe and cared for. At the same time, the seniors experience appreciation for their active role and strengthen their sense of responsibility.
The participants cut, glue, paint, and craft, thereby specifically promoting the children's motor skills. This collaboration fosters relationships between the generations. The children build upon familiar experiences, share secrets, unleash their imaginations, and find their place within the group.
The project provides participants with a break from their daily routines and a safe space to address issues and problems. It fosters emotional stability and self-confidence. Participants discover creative possibilities, experience joy, and actively participate in the group.
The project facilitates encounters between generations, awakens curiosity, stimulates imagination and strengthens the social skills of children and seniors.
