After the COVID-19 pandemic, it became clear how much children had suffered under the restrictions – both physically and mentally. Lack of exercise, social isolation, and a lack of leisure activities had taken their toll. To counteract this, KRASS e.V. launched the "Fitness for Children After the Pandemic" initiative.
As part of the "Movement Initiative" project, regular activities were offered at a refugee shelter in Düsseldorf, combining exercise, community, sports, games, and fun. The children danced, romped around, played together, and took walks in the fresh air. The focus was not only on fitness, but also on strengthening self-confidence, joy of life, and team spirit.
With each exercise session, energy and confidence grew. The project helped the children to regain strength, feel free again, and rediscover the joy of physical activity.
