Project idea and approach
"I am important" is a year-long creative project for girls aged 12 to 14 that combines art, fashion, movement, and community. The focus is on a creative, playful approach to design and self-expression. Participants discover their own strengths, develop new forms of expression, and experience the value of their perspectives and ideas.
Creativity as an expression of identity
The project opens up a creative space where girls can experiment with colors, shapes, fabrics, and materials. Workshops on painting, collage, and textile techniques combine artistic design and fashion as a means of self-expression and self-reflection. Creativity is understood as a tool to make one's own thoughts, feelings, and identity visible.
Movement, encounter and community
In addition to artistic activities, the project includes movement sessions such as dance, fitness, or boxing, as well as joint activities like excursions or cooking projects. This combination of creative work, physical activity, and shared experiences strengthens group cohesion, promotes social skills, and creates a safe space for exchange and interaction.
Strengthening self-confidence and expressiveness
A central goal of the project is to foster self-confidence and self-efficacy. The girls are encouraged to develop their own ideas, express their opinions, and make their personalities visible. By combining art, movement, and community, new spaces for experience are created that sustainably support personal development and self-esteem.
Conclusion and presentation of results
At the conclusion of the project, the resulting works will be presented in a joint exhibition. This public presentation will recognize the creative achievements of the participants and showcase their individual forms of expression.
Organizational framework
The project starts in March 2026 and is designed to run for one year. The group meets once a week for three hours at KRASS e.V., located at Bürgerhaus Eller, Jägerstraße 31 in Düsseldorf. Group size is limited to approximately ten participants to allow for intensive support and creative collaboration. The program is free of charge, but registration is required.
