(I.e. What can you expect at the children's theatre?
The main focus is, of course, on having fun! Together we'll read fairy tales, stories, poems – and anything else you bring along. We'll discuss the texts, brainstorm ways to bring characters to life, and experiment with how voice, facial expressions, and movement can transform a role. Step by step, we'll rehearse our own play, which we'll then perform together on stage!
(I.e. Who runs the children's theatre?
The children's theatre is led by our experienced theatre team, who will show you how much fun it is to play theatre and immerse yourself in other worlds.
Why playing theatre is so much fun for children
Acting in plays is fun because you can slip into any role you can imagine – sometimes brave, sometimes funny, sometimes mysterious. You can let your imagination run wild, stand on stage with other children, and experience how everything comes together to form a real play. Would you like to read that the children's theater has already performed The Jungle Book for an audience? You can read it here..
About the KRASS children's theatre
Our children's theatre is a safe space where children can playfully develop their imaginations, try new things, and gain self-confidence in the Eller community center in Düsseldorf. The focus is always on the joy of doing things together. The children are allowed to be loud or quiet, improvise, laugh, contribute ideas, and simply explore their potential. Even children who are initially a little reserved are gently encouraged to try things out and find their place on stage – entirely at their own pace.
The children's theatre is led by our experienced theatre team, who provide individual support to each child and ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe. We take the time to connect with each child and discover their unique strengths. It's not about being perfect, but about bringing stories to life together and developing individual creativity.
Many parents tell us how positively acting in plays affects their children – they become braver, more open, and learn to interact within a group and be considerate of others. In short: Our children's theater is a safe space where children can grow, laugh, and simply enjoy playing.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the ARAG SE, who made the children's theatre project possible through their generous donation!
