Over a period of twelve months, children aged 8 to 16, with the support of artists, art therapists, and dedicated 3M volunteers, painted their personal "favorite person" on a 30 x 30 cm canvas – according to their own abilities and at their own pace. The professional artists provided individual guidance to each child, fostering their creative expression.
3M funded the Lieblingsmensch project, and the company's volunteers actively supported the team of young artists.
The participating schools initially presented the artworks they had created in their own classrooms. Afterwards, all participants displayed the pictures in a large exhibition on the banks of the Rhine in Düsseldorf, where they admired and celebrated the works together.
