In October 2025, we launched a stop-motion animation workshop for children aged 6 and up. Until the end of the year, children aged six and up transform our rooms at the Eller community center in Düsseldorf into a creative film studio every Friday from 16:00 pm to 19:00 pm. The children learn how to create vibrant films from individual images. The workshop is free and requires no registration.
The children explore stop-motion animation, a technique in which figures, models, or everyday objects are moved and photographed step by step. In doing so, they learn how stories are visually brought to life and how patience, precision, and imagination lead to successful animations.
In the stop-motion workshop, the children try out various techniques, including cut-out animation, figure or clay models, and object animation. They combine painting, drawing, collage, and storytelling to transform their ideas into moving images.
Experienced supervisors guide the children through all stages of production. In this way, they create their own short films, develop creative skills, and work together on projects, while playfully learning new techniques and realizing their ideas.

In the stop-motion workshop, children learn how to create fluid movement from individual images. They develop their own stories, design characters, and create sets that stimulate their imagination and creativity. They practice patience, work meticulously, and plan each movement step by step. Additionally, they learn teamwork, problem-solving skills, and how to use technical tools for film production.
