On May 30, 2026, a colorful family and neighborhood festival – the Heerdt Summer Festival – took place in the Heerdt Leisure Park at Heerdter Landstraße 160. From 14 p.m. to 18 p.m., numerous families, children, and teenagers came together to enjoy a varied and fun-filled afternoon.
KRASS e.V. was also there with its art van and brought lots of fun to creative kids! Many children enthusiastically took part in the activities. Using paints, crayons, and craft supplies, they created colorful, imaginative works of art. They painted, drew, and crafted to their hearts’ content—with lots of joy, creativity, and their own great ideas.
A wide range of activities for children, teenagers and adults
In addition to the creative activities, numerous Heerdt associations and institutions also presented their work at the summer festival and provided information about offers for children, young people, and adults. Food and drinks were well catered for with coffee, cake, grilled sausages, and beverages. At the same time, a diverse stage program with live music, singing, dance, and a magic show provided entertainment for both young and old.
The summer festival was organized by the youth centers WestEnd, Twenty One, Rondell, and the Oberkassel adventure playground. They presented their programs, holiday activities, and support services for families, contributing to a successful day of festivities.
The summer festival in Heerdt leisure park once again demonstrated how important community events in the district are and how well creative, sporting, and cultural activities can be combined to create joy and a sense of community.
About the Heerdt Leisure Park
Heerdt Leisure Park is a popular public recreation area on Heerdter Landstraße, ideal for a fun-filled day out with the whole family. The park offers numerous play and sports facilities, including a large playground, climbing frames, a skate park, and a modern pump track for bicycles, scooters, and skateboards.
Sports enthusiasts will also find fields for handball, volleyball, streetball, and soccer at Heerdt Leisure Park, as well as a mini-golf course and a bocce court. Various quiet zones and barbecue areas, which can be reserved with the park management, provide opportunities for relaxation and socializing.
The Freizeitpark Heerdt is barrier-free and has good access to public transport, for example via the U75 light rail line. An important note for visitors is that dogs are not allowed on the premises.
During opening hours, restrooms are available on site. The park was built in the 1980s on the site of a former landfill and is continuously modernized to meet the needs of different age groups. Entry to the Heerdt Leisure Park itself is free, although a small fee applies for certain activities such as mini-golf.
