Pottery is really fun!
Every Tuesday you can try your hand at pottery at KRASS in Düsseldorf. You can create flower vases, small bowls, fantasy animals, cute monsters, funny figures, or anything else you can imagine. There are no limits to your imagination! Whether you already have experience or are trying it for the first time – you can simply join our pottery class for children and be creative.
The pottery course is for all children aged 5 and overYou don't need to register and It costs nothingYou can simply drop by and join in.
We do pottery every Tuesday from 16 pm to 18 pm.
During this time, trained staff will show you Artists, how to work with clay and help you to implement your ideas.
👉 All materials are provided – you don't need to bring anything.
👉 You can take your artwork home with you when it's finished.

Why pottery is fun and promotes creativity
Pottery is something very special for children. While working with clay, children learn to use their hands and fingers in a targeted way and develop a good sense for shapes and materials. They practice concentration, patience, and how to turn their own ideas into reality step by step. This strengthens their self-confidence, as children can see at the end what they have created themselves. At the same time, pottery often has a calming effect and helps them to relax and focus. Parents experience how creative their children become during pottery and how much joy they take in designing something of their own and proudly bringing it home. Our pottery course is open to all children aged 5 and up and is led by professional female artists.

Did you know that humans started working with clay over 20.000 years ago? That's so long ago, there weren't even houses or cars back then! People shaped clay and fired it to make bowls for their food or storage containers.
Originally, the work of a potter was purely functional. It involved making vessels in which food could be stored, cooked, or kept. Since the main product of this work was the pot, the profession was called "potter" and the activity "pottery making."
Why we still do pottery today
Even though we can simply buy bowls in stores these days, we haven't forgotten pottery. Why? Because there's something magical about it! When you work with clay, you transform a piece of earth from nature into something unique. It's one of the few activities where you truly create everything with your own hands – without computers or electricity.
