KRASS Lüneburg

Who we are

Maike Beckmann and Sandra Born – we are responsible for KRASS on site in Lüneburg. Joy, motivation, success! These are just three of the things that children and young people experience with us. We are volunteers from all professional backgrounds, art therapists and qualified artists, theatre and dance educators who have come together in Lüneburg with heart and mind.

How and where we work

We create art spaces as a helpful and meaningful medium. We support children and young people in developing self-confidence, discovering their own strengths, recognizing key competencies, and expressing themselves.

We visit children and young people with and without refugee experience directly in communal accommodations or other places of residence in the form of an open studio.

We organize excursions to cultural meeting places on weekends or during holidays.

We offer trauma-informed art courses in two primary schools.

We regularly organize special projects on topics such as music, theatre, dance, and visual arts in cooperation with partners. You can find lots of information about us and current activities on Facebook and Instagram!

Who we are there for

Through our inclusive work, we aim to reach children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18. KRASS primarily enables children and young people with special needs, for example, from socially disadvantaged or educationally deprived families, to engage with art and culture. We are tolerant of factors such as religion, social background, or nationality. The arts bridge focuses on commonalities and offers a unique opportunity for communication.

Current KRASS projects

Weekly programs in refugee accommodations in and around Lüneburg. At the open studio, children and young people have the opportunity to express themselves creatively. We would also like to involve mothers with children.

We're looking for some serious supporters!

To turn our vision into reality, we are happy about every new and existing supporter of “KRASS vor Ort Lüneburg”!

Motivation for the founding of "KRASS vor Ort"

"KRASS vor Ort Lüneburg" uses a mobile studio to work artistically with children and young people in refugee accommodations, providing them with a space for positive experiences and an outlet for expressing their feelings. This fosters creative skills, social competence, and self-confidence.

For this purpose, “KRASS vor Ort Lüneburg” has formed a team with artists, educators, interns and volunteers, which is supported by the management and staff of KRASS Düsseldorf.

When was it founded?

I have been a social franchisee since January 2016 and work under the name "KRASS vor Ort Lüneburg".
