Under the theme “Community Garden,” the grounds of the Central School Garden are transforming into a lively gathering place for families, children, teens, and anyone who wants to spend time together in nature. Since April 18, a varied and free program has been offered every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Whether it’s creativity, physical activity, nature experiences, or gardening together—there’s something for everyone here. KRASS e.V. is also there every Saturday at the Central School Garden—alternating with the KuMo art mobile and the mobile recording studio MOVER
KuMo – the art mobile for young artists
When the KuMo (Kunstmobil – Art Mobile) stops in the central school garden, things get colorful. The mobile art unit brings everything needed for creative activities: paints, paper, cardboard, colored pencils, and many different craft materials.
Children can jump straight in at the tables provided. Whether they want to paint, draw, craft, or create their own little masterpieces, no previous experience is needed. Everything you need is ready to go, and inspiration usually strikes the moment they start.
KuMo creates a space where children can unleash their imagination and be creative. This results not only in beautiful pictures and crafts, but also in many shared experiences.
The MOVER – Experience music and sound technology
On other Saturdays, the MOVER, the mobile recording studio of KRASS e.V., is a guest in the garden.
Here, children and teens can take the microphone themselves and experience how professional audio recordings are made. They music – and sound engineering, and try out how voices are recorded and edited.
Many young and older visitors alike are thrilled when they hear their own voices through professional equipment or get their first taste of working with microphones and mixing consoles. The MOVER makes technology easy to understand and shows just how exciting work behind the scenes of music and audio can be.
The Central School Garden Düsseldorf
The Central school garden is a special institution of the state capital Düsseldorf. For many years, children and young people have been learning about nature up close here.
The garden serves as an outdoor classroom, offering numerous opportunities to discover plants, animals, and ecological relationships. At the same time, it is a place of relaxation and an important meeting point in the neighborhood.
With the "Participatory Garden" project, the central school garden is opening itself up even more to the public. In addition to the creative offerings from KRASS e.V., the KuMo art mobile, and the MOVER mobile recording studio, the program also includes physical activities, nature-based events, community gardening, and a café with coffee and cake.
Every week, new hands-on activities await visitors of all ages. This transforms the garden into a vibrant place where nature, creativity, and community come together.
The central school garden is located in the Bilk district of Düsseldorf, directly on Räuscherweg near the South Cemetery.
