Boxing project for young people – fun, exercise and prevention
Our boxing project is aimed at teenagers – get off the sofa and into the gym!
Every Wednesday at 6 p.m.: under the professional guidance of boxing pro Stefan Freundenreich, participants not only learn technique and fitness, but above all experience fun and community. Boxing strengthens personality, promotes discipline and helps reduce stress. At the same time, it has a preventive effect – it helps young people to face challenges with confidence and resolve conflicts without violence.
Join in and discover how much fun exercise can be! We provide the equipment.
With the project ‘You belong to us’, KRASS e.V. is launching an intercultural art and empowerment project that specifically targets refugee children. Our aim is to strengthen these children’s resilience, ability to deal with conflict and sense of belonging through artistic and cultural activities. We create a safe space in which they can discover their creative talents, experience cultural identity and develop healthy self-confidence. Democratic values and the creative exploration of topics such as tolerance and the prevention of extremism take centre stage. A particular focus is on regular encounters with non-refugee children from the neighbourhood – shared experiences and getting to know each other are firmly anchored components of the project.
KRASS e.V. joined the Volunteering Fair Düsseldorf 2025 – Because every commitment counts!
Since the first Volunteering Fair 10 years ago, we have been setting a strong example for cultural education and equal opportunities.
Why is KRASS e.V. at the fair? 👉 Because we enable children and young people to take part in free art and cultural projects. 👉 Because we show that volunteering strengthens and changes society. 👉 Because we are looking for supporters who share our vision.
At the Fair 2025, we presented our current projects, exchange ideas with other volunteers and network with people who want to make a difference.
World Play Day is one of the official UN days of remembrance and is celebrated internationally on 11 June. The aim of the day is to encourage adults and children to play together and have fun doing so. In 2025, the motto was ‘Let’s play – with all our senses!’. ddorf-aktuell reports here on our campaign on the Rhine embankment promenade. Photo: Ute Neubauer.

Living the Diversity In the theater project, children and young people went on an exploratory journey into their own personalities through acting.
Under the guidance of the KRASS actress Ulrike Schwab offered KRASS e. V. schoolgirls of the GHS Benrath in Düsseldorf the opportunity to discover themselves in a theater project and freely express their wishes and opinions.
The artistic work sent the students on a journey of exploration into their own personalities, strengths and talents. It helps the young people to reflect on their own lives, develop social skills and, in ensemble, gain the knowledge and strength to actively shape their own lives and the environment.

Forget the dreary everyday life by living out creativity – outside the #Corona crisis, KRASS gives children the tools to do so at the pro bono KiA from Mondays to Fridays, from 4-6 p.m. each day at Linienstrasse 78 in Düsseldorf. And for parents and children, the workshops are free! You can also view more photos here.
It has been open for over 2 years now. “My heart’s desire”, as Claudia Seidensticker calls the KRASS KinderAtelier. Because she helped plan it from the ground up. She has invested her heart and soul and time.
But above all, because of the little artists who drop by – quite shyly at first, sometimes with little self-confidence. “I can’t do it,” the artists Barbara, Duschka, Katja, Melanie, Mareike and Katja often hear.
Then they sit down next to the kids, pick up the brush themselves or mix the colors, show the techniques. Showing that there is something to the saying: “The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
And then something happens that always amazes us at KRASS: the kids leave their protective walls, come out of their shells, confide in the artists and trust in themselves. This is especially evident during picture discussions, where the kids tell us something about their artworks. Whether they paint with Mareike’s pastel chalk, make small boats out of Barbara’s natural materials, or build a model village out of the tetrapaks that Tine collects: Behind each work of art are entire stories, incredibly exciting and touching. A matter of the heart.
