In this project, a variety of extracurricular educational measures were bundled, so as to open educationally disadvantaged children in Düsseldorf-Garath between 7 and 12 years access and participation opportunities and to support and promote them in their overall development.
According to a survey by the Düsseldorf administration, the proportion of Hartz IV recipients is highest in the Garath social area. If the city average is 13 percent of the population dependent on support, “the proportion in urban district 10 (Garath, Hellerhof)” is 21 percent.
